Benefits of joining the club

Club members have access to equipment hire, field days, discounted varroa treatments, as well as eligibility to join the swarm list and advertise in the newsletter (for non-commercial buy/sell/exchange). Membership also allows you to vote at our Annual General Meetings, and Special Meetings.

Hire equipment currently includes a complete extraction kit (including a four frame manual extractor) and wiring boards. We are also open to suggestions of other beekeeping equipment that could be easily transported etc.

Field days are often closed to non-members, so if you want to come to our hiveware assembly days, hive inspections, extraction plant tours etc, you will need to join.

Anybody is welcome to come along to our monthly meetings, but by joining you acknowledge the benefit the club brings you, as well as your fee going towards services like the club's ApiNZ membership, supper, honey competition prizes, maintenance of the club hives. The club is a non-profit organisation, run by volunteers, so we need your support to keep doing what we do.

Membership is a very modest $25 per annum for a family membership.
